Ngukurr duo providing spark for Waratahs
Ngukurr duo Davin Hall and Jake Farrell are causing all sorts of headaches in the Waratahs forward line with their electrifying speed, defensive pressure and a sixth sense for finding the goals.
Farrell, 19, picked up an NTFL Rising Star nomination in Round 5 for his starring role against Palmerston.
Hall, 24, has featured in Tahs’ best six times from his seven matches and leads the club’s goa Louboutin Outlet l kicking count with 22 including a bag of seven in a match winning performance against the Tiwi Bombers in Round 9.
After playing five matches for Tahs last season, he said his match against Tiwi was “probably the best I’ve ever had” and is loving his time at the club.
“It was tough when I first got up here last year but it’s a bit easier this year,” he said.
“I think I’ve been lucky to kick so many goals. I’m proud of that (club leading goal kicker). I’ve never been a leading goal kicker in anything ever in my life, even in the Katherine League (for Ngukurr Bulldogs).” Louboutin Outlet
Toy said his silky skilled recruits play an important role for side offensively, but it’s the way they defend that has him so impressed.
“They just give us something that we are deficient in small, ground level players with speed and a little bit of an ‘X factor’,” he said.
“They basically play wherever they want but they are both offensive players and end up in the forward line.
“They are very dangerous around goals but the thing that I’ve been most impressed about is their tack Louboutin Outlet ling pressure and perceived pressure they put on the opposition.”
Tahs face a danger game this weekend when they come up against a confident Palmerston outfit which ran away with a 34 point win over Southern Districts last round.
Toy hopes their close loss to Wanderers fired up his side.
“It’s frustrating to come so close to Wanderers and not get away with the win again,” he said. “But I think we can take a bit of confidence out of that because Wanderers are the second best team in the competition, and for us to push them to the line I think there is probably more positives than negatives to that.”
In a worrying sign for the Magpies, Hall who hopes to play wi Louboutin Outlet th NT Thunder next year made one particular observation about tomorrow’s match at Gardens Oval.
